Pre-wedding cosmetic treatments are not uncommon. An aesthetic treatment may be the answer when you’re wondering how to look and feel your most confident on the big day. But what about the timeline?
Start the cosmetic process when you are at least 12 months out from your wedding. This gives you plenty of time to research procedures, to meet with Dr. Schuster, to schedule the surgery, and to fully heal before your wedding day.
Dr. Schuster will help you sort through the timelines of specific procedures you may be interested in.
- Rhinoplasty: You will need at least 3-4 weeks to return to full activity. Undergoing rhinoplasty at least 6-12 months before the wedding will allow the final results to fully form. All swelling will be gone as well, even the smallest amount.
- Breast augmentation: You’ll need at least 4-6 weeks before returning to all normal activities after breast augmentation. The breast implants will settle into their final position during this time. The farther out from your wedding the better, since you’ll want to fit your wedding dress to your larger bust size after everything has healed and swelling has gone away.
- Facelift: You’ll need at least 4-6 weeks before you can get back to your normal routine after a facelift, and the results will start looking really good after about 6 months, so this is another procedure where the more time you allow, the better.
- BOTOX® Cosmetic and Dysport: Injectable wrinkle relaxers have great-looking results not too far out from your appointment. You may want to allow at least 2 full months to make sure all bruising and redness goes away.
When it comes to surgical procedures, allowing 6-12 months for results to solidify is recommended. If you are planning or re-planning your postponed wedding for next year, now is a great time to get in touch with Dr. Schuster about pre-wedding aesthetic rejuvenation.
