Refresh Your Skin With a HydraFacial

We all would love smooth, flawless skin, but everyone’s complexion is individual and deserves personalized attention. The HydraFacial is a customizable, deep-cleansing skin exfoliation treatment that can refresh your face and leave you confident after treatment at our office in Baltimore, MD.

The HydraFacial is a three-step technique that exfoliates the skin, extracts excess oil and dirt from your pores, and nourishes your complexion with hydrating serums to promote a healthy skin barrier and natural glow.

How Does HydraFacial Work?

The HydraFacial skin exfoliation process consists of three steps: cleansing and exfoliating, extraction, and hydration.

Cleansing/Exfoliation

With a handheld device, our cosmetic expert will carefully remove the upper layer of your skin. Over time, skin can accumulate dead skin cells that clog pores, dim complexions, and contribute to issues like redness, acne, and blackheads. HydraFacial effectively and safely targets many skin concerns through a painless facial technique that goes beyond the surface to nourish your skin by first lifting dead layers, then moving on to phase two: extraction.

Extraction

A suction device that uses vortex fusion technology painlessly and swiftly eliminates dirt and excess oil clogging your pores. HydraFacial is an excellent way to remove skin impurities and reduce the appearance of pores without causing irritation.

Hydration

HydraFacials are complete by applying nourishing, hydrating serums to your freshly cleaned skin. Because your pores have been thoroughly cleansed, they can be easily penetrated by these specialized skincare products that are rich in antioxidants and other nourishing ingredients.

Various serums are available to address specific skin concerns, such as redness, dryness, or acne. Before your HydraFacial, we encourage you to let us know more about your skincare goals so we can customize your treatment to help you reach them.

How Do I Prepare for a HydraFacial?

Minimal preparation is required for this deep-cleansing facial. All you need to do is arrive with your face makeup-free. We advise avoiding injectables, dermal fillers, chemical peels, and any skincare products with acids or retinol ingredients for at least a week prior to treatment.

You should also avoid waxing and exfoliating before HydraFacial to avoid causing skin openings that could lead to irritation. We also suggest you come to your appointment with clean, dry hair and no added products.

Do I Need to Avoid Anything After HydraFacial?

There are several things you should refrain from doing after a HydraFacial. These include:

  • Avoid sun exposure, especially without sunscreen.
  • Avoid strenuous exercise that induces sweating.
  • Do not use a sauna, jacuzzi, or hot tub.
  • Avoid swimming in a pool or submerging your face in water.
  • Do not take a hot shower; use lukewarm water instead.
  • Do not exfoliate or apply any retinoids or skincare products that contain acids.

HydraFacial Healing Period

You can return to work immediately following a HydraFacial, but you should avoid makeup, heat, sweating, and water exposure for the first 24 hours. Furthermore, patients should avoid shaving, waxing, or exfoliating their facial skin for at least 24 hours to two days after treatment.

When to Expect Results

Generally, patients notice skin improvements immediately following treatment. To see the full results, it can take several days. We often recommend having several HydraFacial treatments to achieve the greatest benefits, though these suggestions are always made individually after one of our experts assesses your skin.

Can I Get HydraFacial With Acne?

HydraFacial is safe for all skin types, and it has been proven to treat patients with active acne vulgaris effectively. We recommend that you first consult with a member of our team to discuss your skin concerns and any sensitivities you have so we can determine if HydraFacial is the most appropriate treatment for you at this time.

How Long Does HydraFacial Take?

A typical HydraFacial session takes 30 minutes. Many patients notice results after one facial, but the best effects may be achieved through repeated treatments and a good at-home skincare routine.

How Often Should I Get a HydraFacial?

Until you start seeing consistent results, you should come in to our office and get a HydraFacial every two weeks. Then, afterward, you can come in around every month.

Unfortunately, because HydraFacial’s use antioxidants and hyaluronic acid to nourish the skin, they are not safe for women who are pregnant or nursing.
