To date, more than 4 million CoolSculpting procedures have been performed worldwide to eliminate unwanted body and neck fat with virtually no pain. Dr. Ronald Schuster is pleased to offer CoolSculpting to Baltimore-area body contouring patients that want a slimmer and sexier shape without surgery.

What Is CoolSculpting?

CoolSculpting is a non-invasive body contouring treatment that uses cryolipolysis technology to reduce the volume of fat cells through freezing. The revolutionary procedure is non-surgical and does not disturb the skin or the surrounding tissue. CoolSculpting is not a weight-loss procedure and instead is intended to eliminate stubborn fat that does not react to regular diet and exercise.

How Does CoolSculpting Work?

During a CoolSculpting treatment session, vacuum applicators pull the fatty tissue into the applicator cup, which delivers controlled cooling to targeted pockets of stubborn fat. When subjected to such cold temperatures, the fat cells crystallize (i.e., freeze) and then die. It usually takes about an hour per application area, and the total treatment time depends on how many areas are to be treated. Over the next few weeks, the body naturally processes and eliminates the dead fat cells.

Some CoolSculpting patients need more than one treatment to see the desired results. Dr. Schuster can create an individualized treatment plan tailored to each patient’s specific goals. The treatment experience is not invasive; patients can read, check email, watch a movie or even nap during these treatments. There is no downtime after CoolSculpting treatment; patients can immediately resume their everyday activities.

CoolSculpting does not work on everyone; about 75 percent of people see results.

How Long Does CoolSculpting Last?

Most patients usually start to see improvement in the treated area as soon as three weeks after treatment. The most noticeable results should appear after two months and continue to improve for four to six months.

CoolSculpting results are long-lasting. Once the fat cells have been eliminated from the body, they do not return. However, Dr. Schuster recommends maintaining a healthy weight to prolong the results. CoolSculpting patients usually find that they are more motivated after treatment to eat healthy and work out regularly.

CoolSculpting Side Effects and Risks

There are no major side effects associated with CoolSculpting and complications are very rare. Patients may experience minor discomfort for the first 10 minutes of treatment before the area becomes numb. The treatment area may be sore for the first few days after the treatment and a minor numbness may last for 1-2 weeks.

Best Areas for CoolSculpting

CoolSculpting in most often performed on patients that are in good health, maintain a stable weight, yet struggle with unwanted bulges of fat on the abdomen, waist, inner and outer thighs, or underneath the chin.

Why Should I Consider CoolSculpting Instead of other Body Contouring Procedures?

CoolSculpting is a great option for anyone that wants to contour a particular area of the body without surgery, needles, anesthesia or recovery downtime. Treatment is FDA-approved for safety and clinically proven to be effective.

How Much Does CoolSculpting Cost?

CoolSculpting cost varies depending on factors such as how many areas or “Cycles” you are interested in treating and your end goals. For example, if you only want minor treatment for your arms, the cost will be much lower than it would be for CoolSculpting that targets the thighs, abdomen, and back. The only way to receive an accurate price is by scheduling a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon.

The more cycles the more you save!
